| so i'm back from china. it was pretty fun, we mainly went to like remote places instead of major cities. i went to shangri la. it was pretty cool just because i can now say that i've been there. in actuality, it was pretty dirty since most of the people there are poor and such. we stayed mainly in the countryside, which was really pretty. all-in-all, it was a decent trip. i got to see a lot of the different minority groups and their cultures. what sucked was that it was really hot and humid. for my bday, i went into a bar and drank some beer. the beer sucked, i really don't like beer. but it was legal for me to do that there so i can brag about being in a bar legally for my 18th bday. i shoulda ordered scotch or vodka or something like that, but whatever, it was still pretty cool. i ate the weirdest things there, such as scorpion soup and pig's hands/feet. the soup was good, the pig thing was ok. well, later in my trip i re-met a girl i haven't seen/talked to in like 4 years. it was pretty awkward at first, but then after we talked it was fun. my parents, and my dad especially, were trying very hard to embarrass me that night. they did a pretty good job at it too. so anyway, i'm back in california where it is no longer hot and humid, but just hot. it kinda sucks being here cuz i really have nothing to do right now. a lot of people are on the class europe trip. i prolly shoulda gone to that. so now i'm waiting for my cousins, aunts, uncles, and leslie to come visit and break the monotony that has already bored me half to death. anyway, i dunno what else to say so yea, that's about it. | | |
| I was watching TV, and it got me to start thinking about thing, namely the bad messages many cereal commercials send out. For example, Lucky Charms. Those kids are always going around stealing from Lucky or else spying on him or some other such nonsense. Now, kids will start doing the same thing to short men with Irish accents dressed in green and be able to rationalize it by simply saying, "Those kids in the Lucky Charms commercials do it." Also, there's the matter of Chips Ahoy. That wolf is always trying to steal from the kids. Kids will prolly now go out and start stealing cookie-like foods from other kids. Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles are even worse. At least the first two had non-human things stealing/being stolen from. The Pebbles cereals have Barney stealing from Fred. What's even worse is that they're supposed to be best friends! What is up with that? I mean, now kids'll prolly go out and steal from their best friends. Finally, Trix is especially cruel. I mean, why can't those dang kids just give that rabbit some Trix? I feel bad for it, all day it dreams of Trix, but those kids never give any to him. It kinda sucks. | | |
| HA HA. Prom was glorious. And I actually danced. Apparently my date, Haley, made people jealous of me...

Enjoy those pics. It's the first time I'm putting pics of me in here. Pretty freaky.
| Hey everybody. Okay, all of my colleges are finally in. The final score is 7-3. So I guess it's good that I'm ahead. I got into quite a few colleges. They are: UCLA, UCI, UCSD, UC Berkeley, USC, The College of Wooster (it's in Ohio not Massachusetts), and Carleton College.
I didn't get into Stanford, Brown, and U Penn. But it's okay I guess.
I'm pretty much waiting for the Medical Scholars Program for UCSD to come in, but they only accept 12 students. I don't think I'm gonna be getting in there. But if I do, that'll be my first choice. However, it looks like I'm heading for Minnesota. Carleton College, looks like you're gonna be my new home.
Oh well, I guess it's good because Carleton is like the number 5 liberal arts college in the country. That's something to be proud of.
I'm just kinda bummed cuz I didn't get into a direct med. I should've done more research. Oh well, I guess it's alright. All it means is that I have to work harder cuz this isn't gonna stop me from becoming a doctor.
I wish the rest of life is this easy. Stupid prom situation.
